APRIL 13, 2026 -- WEEK 14

I just want to preface, I love doing the dishes and I made a deal to do the dishes if my companion cooks!! I love my companion!!!

Also, I didn't read through this so idk if it makes sense!!!

Join if ya want to

I LOVE THE CITY!!!! There are so many people (obviously)!!!! Anderson姉妹 and I got to do koukans!!! (We switched companions for the day)! So we made our way up from our humble little town Hashimoto to Abeno!! It was so fun guys. First, we had a mogi with a member and that was so scary cause it was my first time meeting her. Shoutout #大江さん((おおえ)ooe). She's the cutest. After that we meet up with a friend. I lowkey didn't catcher her name, but we ate KFC and it was actually so yum. It lowkey tasted like Chick-fil-A, so boom. Now here's where it gets so interesting. シービー姉妹 and my goal was to stop every single person we saw. So we walk past Lawsons and I stop these two guys and say wow I really like your guy's sweaters. Where did you buy them. Blah blah blah. He's like wow, you guys are so cute, want to get a drink. We say no we can't drink coffee, so he's like what about dessert. So we say sure!! We follow them to this place idk what it's called but everyone's smoking so we say nah we can't go in there so we follow him to a different place and we wait. This whole time we are redirecting the conversation onto Jesus Christ and how he died for us. We pull out the Book of Mormon, we say read 3 Nephi 11:14-17 -- BANGER. We say how do you feel?  One says he wants to learn more. He has a note pad out writing stuff down. So we are drinking our sodas in this little cafe and then he's like I want to see your church. So we get up and he pays for us (insane).  We call some people and we head off to the church (the other guy leaves cause he has plans or something idk). We give him a church tour. BOOM. We invite him to eikaiwa (English Conversation Class), Game Night, and church on Sunday!!! He says he might go. But we ended with fire testimonies and gave them both Books of Mormon. It was so interesting. Who knows if he actually wants to take lessons, but the SEED IS PLANTED.

Saturday we did a service project! Brother Hayword passed his driver's license test again!! And he took us down to gojo. We walked around for like 2- 3 hours picking up trash at this big music festival! It was kinda boring but really fun going up to people asking if they had trash I could take. Then Brother Hayward bought us shaved ice and it was so good and tasted so American. Sadly, I now have the worst tan lines I've ever had in my life. I should've worn a shirt with a wider neckline because I got cooked. My face is red, my arms are red, and my neck. But you can literally see it in everything I wear cause every dress is wider than the shirt I was wearing so I'm actually going to kill myself. The things I do for missionary work. I love being a missionary! At church, everyone one was like oh my gosh you are so red. It must be really hot in here. Bro -- kill me. But church was so cute cause we listened to General Conference yay! And they had a room for us in English🫂🫂🫂

When we were out housing this week so many people were just saying come in. And I feel so awkward because once they see us they say no no I'm good and tell us to shut the door. Like these people got to be well over 90. But we did meet some older people who were interested in eikaiwa! They were astonished when we said it was free and kept asking why. We also went to the sweetest lady's house to do calligraphy!! She was 92 and taught us how to do prayer (祈り), and the other ones I forgot except the numbers 1 and 3. After she gave us little cream pies AND ALL THE STUFF FOR US TO DO CALLIGRAPHY!!! I was like omg omg omg. A brush, a little pad, literally she was the sweetest.

Overall this week was really rainy, very fun, but I don't want to live it again! I would relive being in the city though. And you know transfers are right around the corner.

After being in the city, I've been thinking a lot about like how much better I would be or like how much more work I could do and I feel kinda bad. Heavenly Father is literally all knowing and for some reason I'm supposed to being in my little town. And I have to trust that God really does have a plan for me here. That in some way He's using me for something bigger than I can think of or like imagine. And that's kinda hard but if I don't get transferred I will thank God (and I do everyday) that he sent me to Hashimoto. And I will continue to pray for the one person He needs me to find. Literally it's all in God's hands where I need to be. But I wouldn't hate getting transferred to Kyoto or Osaka 😛😛😛!!

Okay I've really been listening to Conference talks this week. One thing I've been thinking of is my amazing mother! And so I searched up mother in Gospel library and one talk that caught my eye was Behold Thy Mother by Thomas S. Monson.

In his talk he quoted this poem "The Name of Mother

“The noblest thoughts my soul can claim,
The holiest words my tongue can frame,
Unworthy are to frame the name
More sacred than all other.
An infant when her love first came,
A man, I find it just the same:
Reverently I breathe her name—
The blessed name of mother.”

—George Griffith Fetter

May each of us treasure this truth; one cannot forget mother and remember God. One cannot remember mother and forget God. Why? Because these two sacred persons, God and mother, partners in creation, in love, in sacrifice, in service, are as one.

Mothers are so important to literally the WHOLE WORLD!!! Like there is no one on the earth who didn't come from a mom. I'm so glad Heavenly Father gave me my mom! I love my mom. Don't forget the sacrifices she has made for you!!! I'm not going to expound more on this but I encourage you all to listen to this talk (reading it's okay but listening was so much better)!!!

“Behold Thy Mother”

Well guys, another pretty lame email but I'm a missionary soo

I'm still trying my best yaya!!!
